The ICPA maintains a focus on dismantling radical ideologies, knowing that radical propagation adversely influences the younger generation and the less-informed community members. To curtail radical infestations, the ICPA developed programs to enrich the lives of the Muslim community with information, services and religious guidance. The functions of the ICPA that foster awareness and spirituality include:

Social

  • Providing advice about administrative services available to the community
  • Providing settlement services and general guidance to new immigrants and visitors to Australia
  • Encouraging the community to engage with the wider society in festivities and activities such as Clean-Up Australia Day and the Children’s Festival
  • Managing the activities and growth of the 5th Bankstown Scout Group
  • Providing workplace training and career advice

Religious

  • Conducting intense religious workshops and endorsing courses to coach the Imams in identifying and refuting radical ideologies
  • Running courses in Qur’anic recitation and exegesis
  • Delivering Islamic lectures at various venues
  • Conducting marriage ceremonies and mediating in family disputes
  • Providing Islamic funeral services
  • Organizing Islamic celebrations and events with the collaboration of community groups
  • Orchestrating chanting bands of adults and children
  • Hajj & ^Umrah Journeys
  • Zakat and Donations services
  • Islamic Books & Literature

To further consolidate the spiritual community, the ICPA supprt mosques in key areas across Australia, facilitating congregational prayers, Friday sermons and Islamic festivities among other activities. The ICPA’s positive impact on the Muslim community became evident through community feedback and the increase in members and affiliates.
