Who is the ICPA
As a leading community-builder, the Islamic Charity Projects Association (ICPA) is an Islamic organization second to none in Australia.
It has reserved this position through its framework, mission, approach, inclusivity, openness and dedication to serve its community through the structure and transparency of institutions and organizations.
It has reached great heights since its humble beginnings in Sydney in 1989. The ICPA has exerted all efforts to establishing institutions in order to structure a cohesive Muslim community.
It is committed to build bridges across diverse communities, focus on the needs of women and youth and facilitate a voice for moderate Australian Muslims. Its current steering committee envision a growth that will continue to exceed expectations.
Vision & Principles
The journey of the ICPA started when a group of highly educated and results-driven community figures realised structural fragmentation and voids in the services available to Australian Muslims, on grass roots level.
A steering committee formed and established a comprehensive framework with enough strength and agility to encapsulate the diverse Australian Muslim community and aggrandise their mainstream moderate beliefs.
The ICPA would provide the Australian Muslim community with a platform that is financially independent, locally focused, non-partisan, community-driven, and religiously and methodologically sound.
In being timely, the ICPA would also focus on exposing and dissolving radical views for the protection of its society. This unique stance would differentiate the ICPA and the quality of services it would provide.
Its mission would be to enhance the quality of life of the Australian Muslim community by responding correctly to their social and spiritual needs.
To achieve this, the ICPA would adhere to the mainstream teachings of Islam as deduced from the Holy Qur’an, the Prophetic tradition, and undisputed scholarly resources.
In particular, it would expose clandestine movements and identify and denounce radicalising ideologies.
To sustain this stance, the ICPA would be highly influenced by the moderate approach of the world renowned spiritual leader, his Eminence the honorable Sheikh ^Abdullah Al-Harariyy.
The ICPA would also be inclusive, inviting and reaching out to all Australian Muslims, irrespective of demographic backgrounds.
It would provide services to enhance their Australian Muslim identity, help them implement their moderate beliefs and engage in the wider society, guiding them to a productive future.
The ICPA would conduct its business in open dialogue with its Australian community. It would also remain open to global discourse, sharing and supporting the balanced views and approaches of the dozens of mainstream moderate Muslim organisations around the globe.
To implement its vision and aims in an accountable structure, the ICPA was incorporated as a non-profit organisation in Sydney in 1991, accelerating its capacity as an umbrella body serving Australian Muslims and the wider community.
Today, the ICPA is consistently breaking new grounds, backed by the efforts of its ambitious leaders and their panoramic vision, and inspired spiritually by his eminence, Dr. Sheikh Husam Qaraqirah, the present successor of the late, honorable Sheikh ^Abdullah Al-Harariyy.
