Special Religious Education (SRE), often known as “Scripture,” gives students in NSW public schools the opportunity to learn about their religion during school hours. These classes are delivered by authorised representatives of approved religious organisations and are available to students who choose to participate.

Special Religious Education (SRE) is part of the NSW public school timetable, allowing students to receive religious instruction based on their chosen faith. Participation is based on parent or caregiver selection.
Classes are conducted by trained and authorised AIES volunteers who meet all requirements, including Working With Children Checks, and follow a strict professional code of conduct.
